Key Botanicals' “Hentsuka Daidai” is registered under the Geographical Indication (GI) system, and only those that meet JA Kagoshima Kimotsuki's criteria are recognized as “Hentsuka Daidai”.

 

Harvesting takes place only once a year in early October, and less than 4% of all “dai-dai” shipments are of this rare fruit. (Source: Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries statistics, 2015) It is smaller than regular radai and has a unique aroma similar to that of lime.
