With a beautiful dark ruby hue, it captivates with its depth and density. The aroma, characteristic of the terroir, is subtle and spicy, with hints of licorice and ripe fresh fruit. On the palate, the tannins are very smooth. The finish is beautifully long. Powerful and elegant, this is a vintage that is already being hailed as a classic of Bordeaux wines, and in many ways is reminiscent of 1998 and its great Merlot.
